Insurance & referrals
In Hong Kong, chiropractors are registered primary healthcare practitioners, so you do not need a doctor’s referral to book a consultation with us.
Please check your own coverage before your visit
- Insurance coverage for chiropractic treatment varies significantly between insurers and plans — including annual limits, co-payments, and whether a referral or pre-authorisation is required for reimbursement.
- Some plans require a referral for claims purposes even though one isn’t clinically necessary to see us.
- We recommend confirming your coverage and any required documentation directly with your insurance provider before your visit.
We’re happy to provide receipts to support your insurance claim.
FAQ
Both treat aches and pains in muscles, joints and bones, but they come from different systems of medicine, with different training and regulation.
Chiropractors train in anatomy, physiology and neurology. In Hong Kong they must be registered with the Chiropractors Council under the Chiropractors Registration Ordinance (Cap. 428). A consultation starts with your history and an examination of posture, movement and nerve function. Treatment centres on spinal adjustment, combined with soft tissue care and rehabilitation exercises as needed.
Dit da is the bone-setting branch of Chinese medicine and is based on Chinese medicine theory. Common methods include manual bone-setting, tui na massage and herbal plasters. In Hong Kong, practising Chinese medicine requires registration or listing as a Chinese medicine practitioner under the Chinese Medicine Ordinance (Cap. 549).
Which to choose depends on your condition and preference. Either way, you can check a practitioner’s registration on the Chiropractors Council or Chinese Medicine Council of Hong Kong website before your visit. If you suspect a fracture or dislocation, go to A&E first. To ask whether chiropractic care suits your problem, message us on WhatsApp.
This varies by individual and condition. Dr. Ho will discuss an expected treatment plan with you after your initial assessment.
Most patients feel minimal discomfort. Please let Dr. Ho know if you have any concerns before treatment begins.
Loose, comfortable clothing that allows easy movement is recommended.
Please let us know via phone or WhatsApp as early as possible so we can offer the slot to another patient.
